HUmble Beginings
Almost everyone in the blood center world has a personal story about how they became involved, whether through a family member or friend who received a life-saving transfusion, the emotional impact of witnessing someone conquer cancer, or perhaps even being the recipient of a transfusion themselves. These stories fuel a deep sense of purpose and commitment within the blood donor community, creating a unique bond that connects professionals, donors, and recipients alike. It’s these personal experiences that often inspire a lifelong dedication to the cause of saving lives through blood donation.

Our story is not inspirational but unique and hopefully tells a little bit about who we are.

in 2006, a man from a small dusty town in the panhandle of Texas, a place where you can still find real cowboys and a place both Mark and Heath have called home (Quanah, Texas) was diagnosed with leukemia. He was a beloved member of the community, and a veteran rodeo clown (a big deal in Texas!). The local high school had organized a replacement drive for him. At the time 448 (Formerly PhoneLogix) was a small but growing telemarketing company doing survey work for companies like Angie's List. 448 donated resources and agents to help recruit new donors to the drive, we literally called the phone book, with the alphabet divided up between the agents. The drive was a huge success and it sparked a passion for recruiting blood donors and forever changed the lives of our company and owners.

Since then we've gone on to develop two donor recruitment applications, scheduled millions of appointments, donated thousands of dollars in scholarships to high school students, and had the privilege to contribute our small part to saving countless lives through the dedication of the backbone of our industry... our volunteer donors. We're blessed to be able to engage daily in such meaningful work. This will be the 3rd brand we've added to the 448 family which now includes 448 Recruitment, 448 Connect, and 448 Connect.ai, all of which started in a small town in Texas.

We are also often asked; what does 448 stand for?
